There’s a cinematic eeriness to the music that Jaye Jayle continues to pump out, so it feels natural when the band releases a single on Halloween day. “Bloody Me” is the name of the song, and we as fans of the band get to double dip as JJ has released two versions — one being a gritty, rockin’ take, and the other a low-fi recording featuring just a man and his guitar. Read what singer/guitarist/frontguy Evan Patterson said about it below:
“Bloody Me was written on Halloween 2014 in Santa Fe New Mexico. At this time, I had no idea that I would soon have a band. The full band version of the song was recorded with Kevin Ratterman at La La Land in Louisville Kentucky in 2015 during the “House Cricks Sessions” The solo version was recorded straight to a 6″ phonograph disc at the Third Man Records Voice-O-Graph machine in 2016.”
“Bloody Me” is currently for sale and is streaming on Bandcamp. Will it end up on Spotify and other streaming services? My fingers are crossed, but who knows? Listen to both versions below.
