Earlier this year, Tender Mercy (aka Mark Kramer) released Leave Little Room, which I believe to be one of the most serene, meditative records that has ever come out of Louisville. The album, which was released via Obsolete Media Objects is a daydream inducing trip lasting 10 brilliant atmospheric folk songs, and we’re happy to report that the record is at last streaming on Spotify (hell yeah!).
To add another dimension to the Tender Mercy experience, a heavenly music video was created for the title track. The architect behind the visuals is W.G. Rickel — you might know him from Future Killer, but he also has made a name for himself putting together psychedelic music videos for the likes of Jim James, Twin Limb, Parlour & more (check out his full repertoire here). This video in particular is a sometimes warm, sometimes cold assortment of vague images. I’m not really sure what the source of any of these shots comes from, aside from a close up of what appears to be an eye. Nevertheless, the video is a wonderful fever dream of swelling emotion that’s sure to alter you mood in one way or another.
According to Mark, the song itself is about “being inspired by others when you are feeling small.” Check out the song & video below:
