MUSIC VIDEO: Howell Dawdy – “Louisville”

As I type this, I’m sitting at a desk inside my hotel room in Dublin. It’s hard to imagine that anything at this moment would make me feel the slightest bit homesick for Louisville, but then the latest music video from Howell Dawdy falls in my lap. The featured song, aptly titled “Louisville” is actually my favorite track from Dawdy’s last full-length album I’m Done which was released a year or so ago. We liked this song so much, in fact that Syd actually put together a short interview with Howell about it’s inspiration and HD’s creative process (check it out here).

The video itself, which was co-directed by Drew Osborn puts Howell Dawdy in front of dozens and dozens of Louisville landmarks, some of which that he refers to in the song — a portion of them being pretty significant, some not so much, but when put together you really get a sense of how weirdly awesome Louisville is, despite it’s obvious flaws and shortcomings. I think at it’s heart, that’s what this song and video are all about.

Oh, and I also don’t care for St. Matthews. Never have, and never will. Watch the video below:
