LISTEN: State Champion – “Death Preferences”

You know it’s gonna be a solid afternoon when a new song from State Champion falls into your lap. The band, which has been together now for more than a decade has announced a new record called Send Flowers, and the first single from the LP is now streaming via Soundcloud. The album will be released November 9th via Sophomore Lounge; preorder it here.

With “Death Preferences”, State Champion peppers in all of the ingredients that have continued to make them such a tasty production of Southern fried indie rock. Singer/guitarist Ryan Davis leads the way with his usual narrative approach, while a violin drives home the solemn, introspective vibe that the band is so good at producing.
