There’s a throw back slacker rock vibe to the new single from Voodoo Economics that really does it for me. “Eight Dimes” hits me like a mix of vintage Pavement mixed with some of the more accessible radio rock from the mid 90’s — in other words, the essence that these dudes are emanating hits me right in my nostalgic sweet spot. Admittedly, I don’t know much about Voodoo Economics, but this track has got me drunk pleasant thoughts from yesteryear, and after a few listens I’m thirsty for more.
“Eight Dimes” serves as the second single from the band’s upcoming self-titled record, the first single being “Nothing Like It” which was released earlier this month and is streaming at all of your usual favorite spots including Spotify. The record is due out October 5th, and to celebrate it’s inception, an album release party will be held the same day at Zanzabar with Lexington psychedelic rockers Johnny Conqueroo and hometown experiemental heroes Wombo also on the bill.
