LISTEN: MC Hijack – “Tender Pieces”

Following last year’s Truth Church EP, MC Hijack  is just about ready to unleash his debut full length Tender Pieces, which features 11 brand new (mostly) instrumental hip hop tracks! While the music is sure to make you wanna shake your ass and tap your feet, be aware that this is a concept album about a future revolution in America to bring justice to those who have enslaved an entire population for over 250 years.

It’ll drop Thursday, July 5th via Louisville Is For Lovers and will cost you zero dollars! That’s right, Tender Pieces will be absolutely free, both the digital download, and the CD! A limited amount of CDs will be available on July 5th at Guestroom Records, and can be mail ordered here.

The date chosen to release this album was a conscious decision. Taken from the press release, “The day of July 5th was picked for Tender Pieces, deliberately a day after Independence Day, in honor of the speech ‘What to a slave is the 4th of July?’ given by Frederick Douglass on July 5, 1852 as we believe slavery in all it’s forms is unacceptable.”
