Young Widows has announced the upcoming release of Decayed: Ten Years of Cities, Wounds, Lightness, and Pain, a 15 track compilation of singles, b-sides, rarities, and previously unreleased songs — the LP is set to be released on June 8th via Temorary Residence. The record serves as a sort of timeline documenting the continued evolution of Young Widows over the last decade. Preorder the album on vinyl, CD and/or cassette here.
To satiate our undying appetite for all things Young Widows, the band is streaming a song from the record called “Rolling As A Forgiver”. I’m not exactly sure of which era this track was recorded during, but given that its heavily driven by Evan Patterson’s eerie vocals I’m guessing this is a B-side from In and Out of Youth and Lightness. Shit, maybe this was a leftover from Easy Pain. Who the hell knows.
Either way, this track rules. Check it out for yourself below via Bandcamp. The song is also streaming on just about every streaming service out there.
ALSO THIS: Young Widows plans to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their brilliant 2008 record, Old Wounds with a tour in June where the band will perform the record in its entirety each night. As you might expect, the last stop is here in good old Louisville, Kentucky.
