Imagine if you a will a world where Django Reinhardt robotripped in the woods, falling deep into a codeine drenched stupor, but trying his absolute best to stay lucid enough to perform. That’s the gist of My Everlovin, who’s central composition in their two track release features chiming, microtonal acoustic instrumentation, ostensibly guitar, but possibly other, supported by warbling birds and atmospheric sounds. It’s surprisingly calming, despite any true melody or rhythm to be had, a trance like oddity that delivers a calming comfort, almost like the string instrument equivalent to wind chimes, quietly playing to the beat of their own drummer. This is something else, I tell ya.
