No, Bobby Petrino’s Louisville Cardinals didn’t look particularly great as a whole as they defeated North Carolina 47-35 in Chapel Hill, but offensively they were unstoppable racking up a heaping 705 total yards. The game was close for most of the game, mostly due to the defense looking lost without their first team All American cornerback Jaire Alexander as UNC knifed through the secondary seemingly at will for most of the game.
Thankfully, Lamar Jackson plays for Louisville, and he was the difference from start to finish as he was responsible for 525 total yards (393 passing, 132 rushing) and 6 total touchdowns (3 passing, 3 rushing). I mean, damn, when have you ever seen anything close to what LJ has managed to do at Louisville the last few years? I don’t think I’ve ever had more fun watching a college football player in my life, and it seems as if he’s only getting better with each snap.
