Indie rock band Dry Summers have a brand spankin’ new EP on the way, and to get you properly hyped on its release the band is currently streaming it in its entirety via their Bandcamp page. The effort, titled OIII will be put out as a 6-song cassette via Sophomore Lounge on Wednesday, June 22nd. A release show is planned to happen the same day at Modern Cult; for more information on the event, go here.
OIII serves as the follow-up to last year’s fabulous Good Enough Is Great cassette, and I’m delighted to say that after a few listens to the latest noise from Dry Summers, I’m once again smitten with these fellas. Their latest offering has the same sort of beachy, indie pop song structures heard a lot in the 90’s with a twinge of art rock thrown in for good measure. There’s also an undeniable charm to the vocals that never quite stay in key, sort of like you’d hear from Pavement‘s Stephen Malkmus.
