LISTEN: Jaye Jayle – “House Cricks and Other Excuses to Get Out”

Throughout the course of 2015, Evan Patterson’s solo vehicle Jaye Jayle released a series of four seven-inch records that, from my understanding, collectively formed a complete album called …It’s Jayle Time! The songs presented showcased a thematic folk approach with a primitive taste of the old west, a vibe I’m fairly certain I haven’t experienced before.

A new record from Jaye Jayle has surfaced, this one titled House Cricks and Other Excuses to Get Out.   Throughout the new effort you get more of the same, only the latest boasts a cleaner series of recordings.  The new record spans nine songs; you get seven new tunes along with two re-recorded tracks from the previous record.  As of this post, the album is only available as a digital download, but I’m told that the LP version will be available at Jaye Jayle shows and should be in stores soon.
