|My personal RSD haul.|
Despite a bit of controversy, Record Store Day 2015 happened yesterday, and it was a major success from my perspective. I really don’t know if any of the shops in Louisville are set back by RSD, and I’m not sure if this yearly event has become the problem that some say it is. That’s not what this particular post is about. I’m writing to say that I personally had a great time visiting my favorite establishments in Louisville, talking to the shop owners and fellow customers, and spending my money on records and merchandise that I fancied. If that hurt anyone’s feelings, I’m truly sorry (no I’m not).
After blowing my budget, I spent the rest of the day hanging out with great friends at Astro Black & Kaiju, as they were collectively putting on a day-long show featuring all kinds of bands and artists. I wish I had more time to get into the fantastic music I saw and heard, but I can tell you this: this event was fun from start to finish. Great music, potent drinks, and delicious food from Osaka Snack Bar. To make things even better, the weather was flawless.
Vaderbomb closed out the event in a big fucking way, the only way that Vaderbomb knows how to do anything. Folks, if you haven’t had the opportunity to watch these guys, please do so. It’ll only improve your quality of living, and more importantly your knowledge of sports entertainment history. A true win-win situation for everyone.
I took a video of Vaderbomb ripping through a couple songs. Forgive the subtle earthquake cam, I was more than a few beers in at this point.
